Overall objectives:

Understand Technical Drawing as an engineering communication language (standards, sections, auxiliary views, and dimensioning).

Acquire foundational CAD skills with AutoCAD (2D entities, editing, drawing aids, layers, dimension styles, plotting).

Apply basic electrical installation design rules: symbols, apartment floor plan (min. T1), single-line diagram, and basic sizing notions (service current, cable cross-sections, voltage drop ? Portuguese Low Voltage Code).

Introduction to PCB design: THT/SMT technologies, libraries, schematic and layout in Autodesk EAGLE (design/DRC rules, DRU, CAM/Gerbers) and Fusion 360 preview.

Assesssment methods and criteria:
Model D - continuous assessment with 2 assignments:

Assignment 1 - Small electrical installation (AutoCAD): normalized symbols, single-line diagram, and basic calculations (service current, cable sizing, voltage drop). Submission: DWG + PDF + report and presentation.

Assignment 2 - Printed Circuit Board (PCB): custom library, schematic and layout in EAGLE, with CAM files. Submission: .lbr + .sch + .brd + presentation.
General requirements: deadlines, technical originality, drawing clarity (layers/styles), concise report. Pass mark ≥ 10/20. Lab worksheets and diagnostic tests may be graded or reinforcement (defined at semester start).
