Research Ecosystem
Scientific research at the University of Madeira (UMa) is organised through nationally and internationally recognised research centres. These centres are specialised units that bring researchers together, promote scientific excellence and establish strategic partnerships with peer institutions in Portugal and abroad.
UMa includes 3 in-house research centres funded by FCT, participates in 5 FCT-associated centres hosted by other institutions, and maintains active collaborations with 4 specialised centres in strategic regional areas.
