Overall objectives:

1 - 1. To understand expressions and vocabulary of most frequent related use with aspects of personal interest such as: family, shopping, work and the environment in which he lives;
2 - 2. To find predictable and concrete information in simple texts in common use, for example: advertisements, brochures, menus, schedules, personal letters (short and simple);
3 - 3. To use a series of expressions and phrases to speak, in a simple way, of the family, other people, living conditions, their educational background and of your current or most recent work;
4 - 4. To communicate in simple, routine personal situations, about subjects and usual activities requiring only a simple exchange of information, and direct, despite not understanding enough to hold a conversation bigge.

Syllabus:

1 - In a restaurant - book a table (by phone, or email); request the menu; request information concerning dishes; place the order; make appreciations about food ar service; request the account; make payments; to thank; imperative sentences
2 - Routines - report routines in the past; personal infinitive; the compound past perfect tense; refer to the elapsed time ? use DESDE e HÁ
3 - Environment & travels - to know / describe Portuguese cities; compare them with others; compare current situations with situations on the past - refer to the now, yesterday and the past; the past tense (perfect, imperfect, and more than perfect); read/comment official papers, like lease agreement; gerund (forms and uses)
4 - Art and Culture - express musical interests; appreciate some Portuguese musical genres (namely, Fado and Cante Alentejano); make mention of Portuguese artists of the various arts - plastic artists; architecture; ... refer interisting places in Portugal and briefly describe these places; TER DE.../ DEVER; simple relative pronouns
5 - Media - commenting on news in newspapers, radio, television; express preferences (concerning programming and/or film genres); summarize a film; direct and indirect speech; prepositions - Uses and values.
6 - Fashion - clothes and accessories; report events and organizations; express preferences; Conditional sentences

Listening authentic communication in Portuguese (music, interviews, conversations), related to the proposed themes; Resolving exercises: multiple choice, gaps; true/false; correspondence, error hunting,.. Reading texts of various typologies (news, pamphlets, posters, culinary recipes, including simple literary texts), related to the proposed subjets; Writing small texts of various typologies - personal letters; email; Invitations; Pamphlets; reporting; Participation in basic social events, improvised or oriented (simulation/representation and communicative games); Description and accounts of past events; Discussing plans and retellings; Participation on small social events (meetings or networking events, ...) welcoming guests and interacting with them; Reading / filling in forms and or printouts of everyday social life.
