Overall objectives:

1 - At the end of the course unit, students are expected to be able to understand, speak and write at level A1.1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.
2 - Furthermore, they will have developed metalinguistic awareness of the functioning of the German language in a contrastive way, as well as the competence of autonomous and group work.

Syllabus:

1 - Introduction to the use of the textbook and other auxiliary materials (e.g. online dictionaries) and support for independent learning.
2 - During the contact hours, completion of the tasks in the first part of the textbook used and the supplementary material, under teacher guidance.
3 - During the autonomous work, completion of the assignments in the workbook (6.5 hours of work per week) and the complementary material.

Assesssment methods and criteria:

Classification Type: Quantitativa (0-20)

Evaluation Methodology:
Classes will have different formats: individual, pair and group work. The assessment consists of two written partial exams (45% each) and other assignments (10%), focused on the skills of reading, writing, listening and speaking. The final grade is the average of the results of the three assessment elements. A minimum final grade of 9.5 is required in order to pass.
