Overall objectives:

1. - Acquire theoretical and practical knowledge about statistics and probability.
2. - Develop skills for understanding data analysis and reporting results.
3. - Acquire ability for the use and application of a statistical software or a calculator to perform statistical analysis and calculus of probability.

1. - Descriptive Statistics.
1.1 - Population and sample.
1.2 - Variables and data.
1.3 - Descriptive measures.
1.4 - Grouping and graphical presentation of data.
1.5 - Relations between variables.
2. - Probability.
2.1 - Random experiments, sample spaces and events.
2.2 - Axioms of probability.
2.3 - Conditional probability. Total probability theorem. Bayes' Theorem.
2.4 - Probability distributions.

Assesssment methods and criteria:

Classification Type: Quantitativa (0-20)

Evaluation Methodology:
Classes include expository parts and other parts of a practical nature. The expository part is dedicated to the introduction or synthesis of concepts and methodologies. In the practical part, students will have to use the computer or the calculator to solve the proposed problems. The evaluation is made by means of two tests, each one with a weight of 50%.
