The cycle of studies geared towards obtaining a Doctorate in Informatics Engineering is comprised of 6 semesters (3 academic years). Those who obtain 180 ECTS are awarded the title.
The main aim of the doctorate programme in Informatics Engineering is to contribute towards the creation of highly qualified researchers with the skills to carry out research projects autonomously whether in the university context or in other economic related areas (namely the business sector).
This cycle of studies is divided into two components. The first year is dedicated to the curricular component and the last two are used to work on the elaboration on an original thesis. Upon completion of the 60 ECTS (obligatory curricular component) students are awarded a Diploma of Advanced Studies.
The degree was recognized by the order of 08-06-2012 of the Secretary of State for Education and School Administration. It is aimed at those who intend to further develop their teaching career in basic education (recruitment group – 540); 3rd cycles and secondary education as foreseen in the terms of article 54 of the Teaching Career Statute.
