The cycle of studies geared towards obtaining an undergraduate degree in Biology is comprised of 6 semesters (3 academic years). Those who obtain 180 ECTS are awarded the degree. The main objective of this course is the acquisition of the necessary skills for the understanding, analysis and interpretation of processes and biological patterns, allowing for a high quality and in depth professional performance rooted in a multidisciplinary curriculum framework which seeks to provide a solid and integrated scientific education. The acquisition of practical skills is ensured throughout the course via fieldwork and laboratorial training, encouraging the development of skills related to the collection and selection of samples and interpretation of scientific information. The course also fosters the acquisition of learning skills and the ability to work autonomously enabling a softer transition into the job market and the pursuit of studies throughout life.
